Pastor Dick Little was formally installed on January 9. He will be in an active role in 2011, leading worship and preaching 2-3 Sundays each month and otherwise working amongst us in a Pastoral role 20-25 hours each week. 

Please make an effort to introduce yourself to Pastor Dick and help him in this transition from retirement into interim ministry. We look forward to an exciting and busy time over the months ahead, and we will benefit greatly from his experience, his energy and his passion for ministry.

PASTOR SELECTION PROCESS

Over the course of August and September, we have interviewed four excellent pastoral candidates.  After much prayer and deliberation within the committee, we have narrowed the field to two.   Working in accordance with the Synod and the call process, we have made plans to hear both candidates preach and conduct follow-up discussions during the month of October.  

It is not a foregone conclusion that we will select one of these two individuals as our primary candidate.  We are, of course, hopeful of nearing that milestone, but strive to work on God's time, and not our own.  Therefore, the opportunity for you to nominate an ELCA rostered pastor, whom you think is a fit for Calvary, remains open.  We are thankful to the congregation for your overwhelming response to our 24-hour prayer vigil, and ask that you continue to pray for the Holy Spirit to guide our discernment and that of each candidate as well.
